Cranberry Cream Cheese French Toast
Cranberry Cream Cheese French Toast
8 slices thick cut French toast bread
1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp. glazed walnuts
3 eggs
1 cup fat-free half & half
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Powdered sugar (optional)

You don't have to wait for the holidays. Cranberry sauce can be found year-round with the canned fruit.

1. Make a slit (to form a pocket) in each slice of bread.

2. Stir together cranberry sauce, cream cheese and glazed walnuts in a small bowl. Spoon equal amounts of mixture into each pocket.

3. Whisk together eggs, half & half, sugar and cinnamon. Dip each bread slice in mixture, turning to coat both sides.

4. Cook in a lightly buttered large skillet until golden brown on both sides. Garnish with a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
