Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough
1 cup water lukewarm
2 tsp. (or 1 packet) dry yeast
2 tsp. sugar
3½ cups flour
1 to 2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. salt

Prep: 15 minutes, Cook: 20 minutes, Rise: 1½ hours

1. Combine water, yeast and sugar in a small bowl. Let stand until bubbly. Place flour in a large bowl with olive oil, salt and yeast mixture. Stir well until combined.

2. Gather mixture into a ball and transfer to a flour-coated board. Knead for about 10 minutes or until dough is very elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl; cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1½ hours.

3. Transfer to a lightly floured board and knead several times, then roll or press into a 14-inch circle and place on a large square of parchment paper. Top as desired and let stand until dough is puffy.

4. Slide onto a hot pizza stone or pizza pan and bake at 450°F for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and starting to brown around the edges.
