Balsamic and Herb Shallots

Balsamic and Herb Shallots
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 lb. shallots
1 large clove garlic
Freshly ground sea salt
freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp. white balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. fresh herbs: such as rosemary or
thyme or
4 cooked chicken breasts or steaks

Prep: 10 minutes,  Cook: 45 minutes,  Serves: 4

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Place butter, shallots and garlic in a 1-quart shallow baking dish; season with 4 grinds each of salt and pepper. Cook for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until shallots are very soft.

2. Sprinkle with vinegar and herbs and cook for 5 minutes more. Serve over cooked chicken or steak.
