Mulling Mix Spiced Shortbread

Mulling Mix Spiced Shortbread
1 packet Cranberry Orange Mulling Mix (see link to recipe in directions)
1 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
2⅓ cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Prep: 10 minutes, Cook: 30 minutes, Makes: 16 cookies

1. Grind the contents of mulling mix in a clean coffee or spice grinder until ingredients are powdery, discarding any small chunks that won’t grind. Preheat oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Stir together butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Stir in flour, salt and mulling spices. Finish mixing with your hands to incorporate all ingredients.

3. Shape into 2 smooth round discs about 3/4-inch thick, then place on prepared baking sheet, pressing edges to smooth. Score surface to form 8 wedges on each circle and decorate each wedge with the tines of a fork.

4. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting. Store tightly wrapped or in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
