Cranberry Pear Chutney

Cranberry Pear Chutney
1 (12- oz.) bag fresh cranberries
2 large ripe Bartlett pears, peeled, cored and diced
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/3 cup wine vinegar
3 tbsp. minced crystallized ginger
1 tbsp. grated lemon peel

Prep: 15 minutes, Cook: 1 hour, Makes: about 2 cups

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and stir well. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 50 minutes.

2. Uncover and simmer over low heat until thickened; let cool. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. May be made up to a week in advance.

Tip! This chutney is also delicious when spread on cold or grilled turkey or ham sandwiches.

Awesome, awesome. I have made this every year faithfully since it first came out in the store magazine almost 10 years ago. I even give it away jars as Christmas gift.
