Microwave Fondue-Style Potatoes Au Gratin

Microwave Fondue-Style Potatoes Au Gratin
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 cup dry white wine divided
1 1/2 lb. russet potatoes (about 4 medium), sliced the short way 1/8-inch thick, divided
1 cup shredded Gruyère, Emmenthal or Swiss Cheese divided
Prep time: 15 minutes, Cook time: 20 minutes

Mix garlic powder, salt, nutmeg and pepper in a small bowl. Pour 1/3 of wine into an 8-inch square microwave-safe baking dish, tipping to coat the bottom. Top with 1/3 of the potatoes, then sprinkle with 1/3 of the spice mixture and 1/3 of the cheese. Repeat steps twice to form 3 layers. Cover with a lid or seal with plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Makes 6 servings.

This was very good! The potatoes were a nice change. I peeled the potatoes, used swiss cheese and Pinot Grigio wine. I will make these again.
